This wire has the correct malleability to allow you top safely tie off the boots and gaiters to ensure they remain secure and of course water proof and dust proof.

If you use wire that is too hard or not of the correct grade you risk cutting through the rubber components as you tighten up the wire coil.

How often do you find that the Rubber Gaiters are split but there is nothing wrong with the actual joint.
