OK... so this it what this little gizmo does.

When the Soft Top on your Triumph Sports Car is lowered and laid flat across the rear cavity behind the seats, the two pins of the securing levers are exposed and point upwards.

As such they have a nasty habit of poking a hole through the tonneau cover or even the half tonneau cover that you have laid across the lowered soft top assembly.

These two buffers are designed to cover the exposed points of those handles and therefore to protect the tonneau cover from damage.

Very Simple and very effective.
