It is extremely important to have the correct radiator cap fitted and most generic caps these days have a much too high release pressure.

Please be sure that you are fitting the correct radiator Cap.

Some specifications on this cap

Depth of reach on this cap is 20mm from the upper rubber seal to the lower seal without any compression on the seals or the spring system

The spring system will allow compression of the seals down to 15mm if pushed down tight.

The Diameter of the upper seal is shown as 56mm

The Diameter of the lower seal is shown as 36mm

Some cars may have had the cap changed in the past and had higher PSI caps fitted.

Never do this. Always check that your Radiator cap has the correct rating in the Manual or in most instances by checking specifications online.

Note this is a "Recovery Cap" which allows for the Cap and system to be used with an Over Flow Tank or bottle,
