Fitted with Electronic Ignition Kit and wired for negative Earth cars.
Note this distributor will NOT fit the Ford Zephyr and Zodiac Mk4 cars

If the ignition switch is left on without the engine running, a Powerspark ignition kit automatically prevents the coil circuit from remaining energised, helping to avoid component damage and battery drain."
By comparison, a conventional points distributor left with the ignition switched on, and the points closed will continuously draw around 4 amps, overheating the coil and flattening the battery within a few hours. A Powerspark system, however, draws only around 25 milliamps when left on, meaning it could theoretically remain powered for several weeks without flattening the battery, while causing no damage to the coil.
Sports Electronic Ignition Distributors:
- To be used with a Standard or Sports
ignition coil, resistance reading above 1.4 ohms.
Not suitable for use with copper HT Leads
