If the ignition switch is left on without the engine running, a Powerspark ignition kit automatically prevents the coil circuit from remaining energised, helping to avoid component damage and battery drain."
By comparison, a conventional points distributor left with the ignition switched on, and the points closed will continuously draw around 4 amps, overheating the coil and flattening the battery within a few hours. A Powerspark system, however, draws only around 25 milliamps when left on, meaning it could theoretically remain powered for several weeks without flattening the battery, while causing no damage to the coil.

This product suits the Triumph Spitfire 1198cc (1200cc) and 1296cc. (1300cc)

It is also suited to many 4 cylinder vehicles that originally carried Lucas Style distributors , but require a Tachometer or Rev Counter Drive

It is fitted with a Powerspark Electronic Ignition Module, 

It is suited to Negative Earth.4 Cylinder Engines

Note: Although a new Mounting Bracket is included with the distributor, you may need to utilise the existing bracket from your car.

This is due to the variances of different vehicles and fitments.
