Boot Lid Luggage Rack - Polished Aluminium With Wooden Slats (Includes Fitting Kit) Dimensions 90 x 36 cm. BLF171
Now here's a bit of fun for the Summer Road Trip Season.
Here we offer a Boot Rack , Luggage Rack made from Polished Aluminium with a wooden slat base.
The overall dimension of the Luggage Rack is 90cm x 36cm
Traditional Styling and avoids the pitfalls of cheap chrome with its attendant rust spots etc.
This rack mounts on four Rubber Feet as pictured and is supplied with two clamps to allow the rack to be secured either side to the boot lid.
Alternatively the rack can be mounted directly onto the boot as you will see there are captive bolt holes in each of the feet. However you would need to use a stainless set screw and possibly a stainless washer and rubber seal to complete that style of mount. That obviously makes the rack a far more permanent fitting on the car.
Note the "Safety Rail" on the rack is supplied fitted upside down on the rack to save freight. You need to turn it over when installing on your car.
We also recommend that some rubber lining be used on the edges of the securing clamps to stop damage to your Paint areas
Some good quality Tie Downs of the correct length will also make your life a lot easier when securing the luggage to the rack.
There is an age old question as to whether the Safety Rail is installed to the front of the rack to stop Luggage flying forward in case of a sudden stop or whether it should be to the rear to stop cases falling off backwards.
We don't really want to enter the debate!. Your favourite Google or AI Person may assist in that.
We do know that the rack is a great favourite of Navigators as they suddenly have a lot more choice in terms of what they can now fit into your Classic Car!!
