Powerspark Electronic Ignition Kit for Lucas 25D & DM2 Distributor (K2 & R1)

Please note this is a NEGATIVE EARTH ignition kit for NEGATIVE EARTH vehicles.

Electronic ignition conversion kit to suit Lucas 23d and 25d 4 cylinder distributors.

This kit will replace the need for Points and a Condenser in your ignition system and ensure that after correctly setting it up, you never again have to adjust timing and the points gap again.

Please ensure that you are buying for the correct distributor. If unsure, ask us a question and we'll help you identify.

We use them in our own car and can vouch for the reliability and quality of this kit.

The 25d4 distributor was fitted to many British vehicles from around 1960 to 1974.

(How to identify your distributor ?: Original Lucas Distributors normally have a number engraved on the top of the cast aluminium casing near the vacuum advance unit. See the attached pictures which will give you an idea: (in this case the image shows a Lucas 31D distributor with a Clockwise rotation)

This electronic kit is designed to replace the points and condenser inside a Lucas 25D distributor, giving you electronic ignition at the turn of your key.

The Lucas 25D Distributor was fitted to many classic vehicles from Austin, Hillman, Land Rover, MG, Morris, Reliant, Sunbeam, Triumph, Vanden Plas and Wolseley as well as European marques.

- To be used with a coil resistance above 1.5 ohms only

Powerspark Electronic Ignition explained in more detail:

The kit uses a simple magnetic trigger and optimises dwell to provide a reliable and consistent spark across the rev range. It is easy to install and maintenance free.

Each kit comprises a baseplate with electronic module, trigger ring and all wiring. The new electronic baseplate mounts exactly where the points and condenser baseplate sat. The kit connects directly to the coil using the wires provided, red to the positive side and black to the negative side. The ignition kit will automatically shut down if the ignition is left switched on without the engine running to prevent component damage.

Powerspark Electronic Ignition Kits are designed to work with a coil resistance above 1.5 ohms, typically 3.0 ohms. Some performance coils operate at a lower resistance and will need the High Energy electronic ignition kit.
