Classic Mini Mk1 & Classic Mini Mk2 Lower Sliding Window Channel 24A88
These are copies of the original solid type, with stronger reinforced internal wire and with the holes for drainage and securing.
These fit either side door where the holes line up on the window catch moulding.
Cut or trim as required, cut the channel at an angle on the front of the door section for easier fitment.
Original screws are GHF400 if holes are not enlarged by rust.
Instructions for previous mini front door window channel, if no holes drilled.
The drain holes can be identified as the larger 6.5mm holes in the chromium plated glazing strip. The smaller holes in the glazing strip are used for fastenings to affix channel and glazing strip to door frame.
TO MAKE DRAIN HOLES IN THE CHANNEL:if not already pre drilled,
1.Use channel/window catch rails (24A1303/4) as template. Mark drain holes on closed face of channel.
2.Using a 3mm drill bit, carefully drill pilot holes through closed face of channel as marked.
3.Using a 5mm drill bit, drill open from side of channel through pilot holes. (This de-burrs pilot holes allowing window glass to slide freely).
New fixing holes may be drilled (using correct size for desired fixing) through open side of channel into channel and appropriate area in door frame.
