Castrol R40 Power 1 is the original, traditional, castor based oil.

It provides the ultimate in lubrication. If the best performance possible coupled with reliability is the aim, then the remarkable stamina and great film strength of Castrol R40 provides a valuable margin of safety at ultra high speeds and temperatures.

Primarily designed for the racing world; however it's unique properties also benefit private owners interested in high performance.

SAE 40 Racing Oil is designed for the racing world. 

It provided the ultimate in lubrication. If the best possible performance coupled with reliability is the aim then Castrol R40 provides the margin of safety at high speeds and temperature. 

NB: Do not mix R40 with mineral based or synthetic crank case oil.

Castrol POWER1 R 40

For highly stressed engines

Description

Castrol POWER1 R 40 is a castor-based lubricant containing specially prepared additives to prevent rapid deterioration

through oxidation. Its superior oiliness over mineral oils, imparted by the chemical structure of its components, gives it a

great affinity for hot surfaces and provides excellent load-carrying properties which is an important consideration with

highly stressed engines running at peak revolutions.

Application

Recommended for highly stressed engines running at peak revolutions. Also recommended for classic motorcycles.

Where special cam shafts are fitted though, there may be a case for using Castrol POWER1 R 40 as the small areas in

contact will be heavily loaded especially where double valve springs are fitted.
